Oculus 2.5.5

How To Create a Movie

How to make a movie Oculus allows you to create a QuickTime time-lapsed movie of your webcam. You can choose to have the movie be created with the pictures that Oculus normally takes for your webcam or you can choose to have the movie at a different rate - for example, one frame a day to watch the seasons, or a construction project.

To make a movie, you have to tell Oculus how often to make the movie, and how long to make the movie. Use the Movie dialog to specify the number of frames or number of minutes. If you decide to use both the number of frames and the number of minutes, Oculus will create the movie with whichever comes first. If you specify the number of frames and number of minutes for how long to create the movie, Oculus will take whichever one is longer.

When you create a movie, make sure you have a .mov filename extension on the end of your file, or else your website visitors will not be able to view the movie. You can embed the movie into your web page by using the following snippet of HTML code:
<EMBED SRC="name.mov" WIDTH="320" HEIGHT="256" BGCOLOR="#000000" BORDER="0" CONTROLLER="TRUE" HREF="http://path.to.your/name.mov" TARGET="myself" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/">

You are also given the ability to modify the compression settings by using the Settings button in the Movie dialog. Cinepak compression is a good, common compression standard that will allow many of your website visitors to watch your movie. You can also use the Sorensen compressor which makes very good quality, yet very small movies. However, to watch Sorensen movies, your website visitor must have QuickTime 3.0 or later installed.
